Accommodations

**(updated 3/21/21)**

Isla Mujeres boasts a number of awesome accommodation options. Here are links to three that we dig:

PRIVILEGE ALUXES (link) - Adults-only resort with an all-inclusive option - we stayed here the first time we visited and have nothing but good things to say

NAUTI BEACH CONDOMINIUMS (link) - two-bedroom condos with full kitchens - a great family option

HOTEL POSADA DEL MAR (link) - Surprisingly inexpensive, centrally located and still pretty dang nice!

NOTE - we hate to be a buzzkill, but please exercise care with alcohol consumption and driving. We’ve been told that they are VERY strict about these laws, and we’d hate for someone to miss our wedding because…well…they’re in jail.

Travel

When you land, you’ll need transport from the airport to the ferry. The lovely folks at CARM, a local airport transportation company, have been kind enough to build a concise travel itinerary for our wedding! You’ll need to BOOK YOUR OWN FLIGHTS, but they will take care of the rest.

1. Fly to Cancun (airport code CUN)

2. Use THIS LINK to get from the airport to Isla Mujeres (and back!).

If you have questions, reach out to CARM. They’re very helpful and very prompt.

If you STILL have questions, feel free to reach out to us at makingmochinski@gmail.com. We’re swamped as heck, but we’ll hit ya back as quick as we can.

Isla Mujeres

is a small, magical island across the Bahia de Mujeres (Bay of Women) from Cancun. At roughly 4 miles long, the island is widely known for its beautiful white sand beaches, calm crystal clear turquoise waters and the friendliest locals in the Mexican Caribbean. Isla’s diversity - from the fishermen, artists and musicians to the divers, chefs and ex-pats - comprises a community unlike any other. With the beauty of the Caribbean, the heritage of the Mayans and the easygoing charm of the people, Isla Mujeres has become a haven for people from all over the world.

On 2/2/2019, we set off from the arctic tundra of Minneapolis to Isla Mujeres for the first time. After a quick flight, a little Jagermeister, an unusually hospitable CARM airport shuttle team and a truly remarkable, 30-minute Ultramar ferry ride, we spent a week falling in love with this incredible island so dang hard that, three years later, we just had to return to make this thing official.
